With a massive seven different trim levels to choose from, it's easy to customize your Silverado 1500 as you see fit. The standard trim is the WT and comes with 17-inch wheels and high-beam headlights alongside a rear bumper corner step. Upgrade to the Custom trim, however, and you'll get 20-inch alloy wheels and LED cargo-bed lights. Meanwhile, the LT trim offers mostly interior upgrades in addition to LED headlights. With the RST trim, you'll get a sportier look with your Silverado in addition to LED tail lights and fog lamps plus body-colored bumpers. If that's not enough, you may be more interested in the LTZ trim and its power sunroof option and standard chrome bumpers. The High Country trim, on the other hand, boasts all-terrain tires wrapped around 20-inch wheels. At the top lies the ZR2 trim, which is an off-roading model equipped with skid plate protection and MT 33-inch tires.

Four different engine options are available for the new Silverado, and they can all pack a punch. The standard engine offers 310 horsepower with 420 pound-feet of torque with its 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four system. The next options are V-8s, with the 5.3-liter V-8 offering 355 horsepower with 383 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V-8, on the other hand, features 420 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque. If you want a diesel engine, the final option is a 3-liter diesel inline-six that offers 277 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque.

Performance with a truck lies in its capability, and the Silverado has plenty on hand for you to take advantage of. At best, it offers a towing capacity of 13,300 pounds, which is among the highest available in its class. That capacity comes with the high-end V-8 engine, of course, but even the smaller V-8 can still manage a maximum towing capacity of 11,500 pounds. The payload capacity is similarly impressive, ranging from 1,870 pounds at the standard level to 2,280 pounds at best.

The Silverado's interior is as comfortable as it is functional with an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an even larger touchscreen interface for the infotainment system measuring 13.4 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be included too. Additionally, rear passengers in the crew cab Silverado will have a generous 43.4 inches of legroom.

Some of the most important safety features included with the Silverado include automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. Plus, this truck received a full five stars for its overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
