Capability for Arkansas Driving
The Sierra 1500 is sized for how Arkansas drivers use their trucks. With max towing of up to 13,300 lbs properly equipped with the Duramax and Max Trailering Package, you can pull a horse trailer to Oaklawn, a boat to Lake Catherine, or a fifth-wheel through the Ouachita Mountains without breathing hard. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck capability reaches 9,900 lbs properly equipped with the 5.3L V8.
Max payload tops out at 2,230 lbs in Regular Cab Pro configurations, which is useful for landscapers, contractors, and anyone hauling materials. For Crew Cab buyers, short bed configurations allow up to 2,020 lbs of payload.
Off-road buyers have the AT4 and AT4X. Both come 4WD-only with the 3.0L Duramax diesel standard, factory 2" suspension lifts, skid plates, and purpose-built off-road suspension. The AT4X steps up to electronic locking differentials front and rear, which GMC notes is not offered by any direct competitor in its class.
Available Technology
Higher Sierra trims bring over 40" of combined driver-focused digital displays (which GMC calls class-leading), anchored by a 13.4" multicolor touchscreen with Google built-in and a 12.3" Driver Information Center.
The headline tech is Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance, standard on Denali Ultimate (with a 3-year OnStar One plan) and available on Denali for $2,200. Super Cruise lets you go hands-free on a growing network of compatible roads, including significant stretches of I-30 between Hot Springs and Little Rock.
The available ProGrade Trailering System on SLT and higher brings up to 14 camera views, trailer light tests, trailer electrical diagnostics, and an integrated trailering app. The six-function MultiPro Tailgate (standard on SLT and above; optional on Pro/SLE/Elevation; not available on Double Cab for 2026) adds versatility for loading, working, and securing cargo.
