2027 GMC Terrain for Sale Hot Springs AR

Three trims from $30,400, a 15-inch screen on every one of them, and an 8-speed automatic that is new to the front-wheel-drive Terrain this year. Here is what the 2027 lineup actually gives you.

The 2027 GMC Terrain is the compact SUV most of our Garland County customers end up in: five seats, 181 inches long, one engine to decide about, and a cabin screen that belongs on something considerably more expensive. It starts at $30,400 before the $1,995 destination charge, tows up to 1,500 lbs with a conventional ball hitch when properly equipped, and carries 63.5 cubic feet with the back seat folded. The four-lane running east toward the interstate carries commuter traffic that stacks up fast at the county line, and the difference between an SUV that parks easily and one that does not shows up every weekday.

Allen Tillery Buick GMC stocks the Terrain and delivers along Highway 70 and Interstate 30 to Benton, Malvern, Arkadelphia and Hope, and to Little Rock buyers who would rather drive out than fight the traffic. Three trims, one turbocharged engine and a 15-inch screen on every one — what changes as you move up is drivetrain, finish and how much of the driver-aid suite arrives standard.

Key Numbers

  • The 2027 GMC Terrain starts at $30,400 excluding a $1,995 destination charge.

  • EPA rates the front-wheel-drive Terrain at 25 MPG city / 28 MPG highway / 26 MPG combined.
  • Cargo volume is 29.8 cu ft behind the second row and 63.5 cu ft with it folded.
  • Maximum trailering is 1,500 lbs on a conventional ball hitch, properly equipped with the available Trailering Package.

2027 GMC Terrain Engines and Powertrain Options

There is one engine, and for 2027 there is now one transmission behind it. Every Terrain runs the 1.5L Turbo four-cylinder producing 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, and every Terrain, front-wheel drive included, now runs an 8-speed automatic. That is the meaningful change this year: the front-wheel-drive Terrain used to run a different gearbox from the all-wheel-drive one, and for 2027 both share the 8-speed. If you drove a 2025 or 2026 front-drive Terrain, this one steps through its ratios rather than sliding between them.

1.5L Turbo four-cylinder

Turbocharged, direct-injected, and tuned for the low-rpm pull that matters in traffic rather than for a headline number. Peak torque arrives early and stays. It runs on regular unleaded. The tank holds 14.8 gallons with front-wheel drive and 15.6 gallons with all-wheel drive.

Drivetrain and drive modes

Elevation comes with front-wheel drive standard and offers all-wheel drive. AT4 and Denali are all-wheel drive as standard. Elevation gives you up to four selectable drive modes; AT4 gets up to six, adding an AT4-only Terrain mode alongside Normal, Snow/Ice, Off-Road and Tow/Haul.

Terrain Trim Lineup and Pricing

Three trims, and they are not a straight ladder: AT4 and Denali diverge rather than stack. Prices below exclude the $1,995 destination charge.

Elevation, from $30,400

The volume trim and the one most Terrains on our lot are. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on the Elevation, as is the 15-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System with Google built-in and the 11-inch Driver Information Center. Seventeen-inch Grazen Metallic machined aluminum wheels and heated premium cloth front seats, plus the over 16 safety and driver assistance features standard on every Terrain. Two factory editions sit on top of it: Elevation Premium adds 19-inch Technical Gray wheels, CoreTec seating, dual-zone automatic climate control, the AutoSense liftgate and wireless charging; Black Edition is the appearance package, with 19-inch gloss-black wheels, a darkened grille and black roof side rails.

AT4, from $39,100

All-wheel drive as standard, a lifted ride height with red front recovery hooks, a front skid plate with a steel underbody shield, and 17-inch Dark Machined aluminum wheels wearing all-terrain tires. Off-road-tuned suspension, Hill Descent Control, a darkened grille, and premium cloth and CoreTec seats in Forest Storm with Mahogany accents. This is the trim for the driver whose road turns to gravel before the driveway does.

Denali, from $42,200

Perforated leather-appointed front seats that are heated and ventilated, heated rear outboard seats, animated headlamps and taillamps, HD Surround Vision and the Rear Camera Mirror, a Galvano chrome grille, and 19-inch Midnight Silver machined-face wheels on all-season tires. Twenty-inch After Midnight wheels are available on the Denali. All-wheel drive is standard on the Denali too.

Full trim-by-trim detail, the step-up table and the common pairings live on the 2027 Terrain trims comparison. You can also go straight to what is on the ground: Elevation inventory, AT4 inventory, or Denali inventory.

Technology and Connectivity

The 15-inch diagonal touchscreen is standard on Elevation, AT4 and Denali, and it is the single feature that sells the most Terrains. It runs Google built-in, so Google Maps and Google Assistant are native rather than mirrored: you can set a destination, reply to a message or change a vehicle setting by voice without your phone being involved. An 11-inch Driver Information Center is standard on Elevation, AT4 and Denali too.

Up to nine camera views are available. HD Surround Vision and the Rear Camera Mirror are standard on Denali, and available on Elevation and AT4 inside Technology Package II, which also adds a Cabin Glance interior camera, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition. Wireless smartphone charging is available on Elevation, included with the Elevation Premium edition. The Terrain technology and safety guide goes through the driver aids feature by feature and shows what the rating bodies have actually published.

Interior and Comfort

Five seats in two rows, with 40.6 inches of front head room, 44.0 inches of front leg room and 57.7 inches of front shoulder room. The second row is a 60/40 split-folding bench with 39.2 inches of leg room. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on Elevation, AT4 and Denali, which is not a given in this class and is the feature Bryant buyers mention most in January.

A panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade is available on Elevation, AT4 and Denali, and a two-tone roof is available in Sterling Metallic or Ebony Twilight Metallic. Underfloor storage behind the second row and a front centre console passthrough keep loose things off the seats, which matters on a Highway 70 run when the back is already full.

Cargo and Passenger Space

29.8 cubic feet behind the second row, 63.5 cubic feet with the row folded. In practice the first number is the week's shopping plus two large suitcases, and the second is a flat-pack bookcase or a mountain bike with the front wheel off. Towing is a genuine if modest capability: up to 1,500 lbs on a conventional ball hitch, properly equipped with the available Trailering Package, which brings the In-Vehicle Trailering App and a new trailer light test feature this year. That covers a teardrop camper, a pair of personal watercraft or a single-axle utility trailer, which are the loads people actually put behind a compact SUV heading out to Lake Hamilton. The Terrain cargo and interior guide works through what fits, configuration by configuration.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Over 16 safety and driver assistance features are standard on Elevation, AT4 and Denali. They include Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, IntelliBeam automatic high beams and an HD Rear Vision Camera. Blind Zone Steering Assist is the one worth understanding: it can apply a brief, firm turn of the wheel when it detects a vehicle in the lane you are moving into, which is a different thing from an alert light in the mirror.

What IIHS and NHTSA have published for this vehicle, including the results that are not flattering, is set out in full on the technology and safety page.

Which 2027 Terrain Is Right for You?

  • You commute and you want the big screen. Elevation with front-wheel drive. The 15-inch display, heated front seats and heated steering wheel are already there. See Terrain inventory
  • You have spun a wheel on an iced bridge once and would rather not again. Elevation with all-wheel drive. Same cabin, added traction, and the Snow/Ice mode. ? See Elevation inventory
  • Your road turns to gravel before your driveway does. AT4. All-terrain tires, the skid plate, the lift and the extra drive modes from the factory rather than from a tire shop. ? See AT4 inventory
  • You tow a teardrop or a pair of jet skis a few weekends a year. AT4 or Denali with the available Trailering Package, for the 1,500-pound rating and the trailering app. ? See Terrain inventory
  • You are stepping out of a loaded sedan and cloth is not happening. Denali. Ventilated leather-appointed front seats, heated rear outboard seats, the surround camera and the camera mirror. ? See Denali inventory

The well-equipped pick to price out: an Elevation with all-wheel drive and the Elevation Premium edition. It carries the wireless charging, dual-zone climate, 19-inch wheels and hands-free liftgate most buyers assume are standard, and it lands well below the AT4.
